Alarming

I'll frequently use my microwave's "Kitchen Timer" function when I'm cooking or baking. At the end of the preset time, it gives it's series of beeps to notify me.

BEEP BEEP BEEP BEEP.
And silence.

Let's say I'm heating something up in my microwave. After the time has elapsed, it will give me a similar notification.

BEEP BEEP BEEP BEEP.
A minute passes.
BEEP BEEP BEEP BEEP.
Another minute
BEEP BEEP BEEP BEEP.
Until I get up to retrieve my food.

Now, I'm curious about the designer of the alarms on this microwave and his/her reasoning for these settings. Is it more urgent to know that your food is heated and ready for consumption? Or that your pasta/cookies/pizza/ramen noodles are about to get overcooked/burnt? I mean, you can reheat your food, but you can't get your ramen noodles less soggy.
